Is this an old Boblo boat?

We originally hoped to purchase & refurbish an old Boblo Boat when researching our options for opening a restaurant in Detroit, but it was concluded that it was not practical or financially feasible for us to take on such a task. The Boblo Island Ferry Boats are an important part of Detroit’s history, and we hope to see them refurbished very soon, but until that happens we are happy to serve Detroit as the only ferry of this kind.

What is the dress code?

We recommend business casual, but you are more than welcome to go above and beyond that! Nothing is too fancy for a night on the Detroit Princess.

How much would it cost to throw a party on the Detroit Princess?

We offer such a variety of packages it is hard to answer that question, as the cost of booking your very own party depends on what exactly you want. We offer a plethora of menu choices, cruise lengths, guest accommodations, bar packages, etc. to make sure that your event is unforgettable. Contact a member of our sales team at sales@detroitprincess.com. to determine an exact price to get things underway!

How can I book a party of my own on the Detroit Princess?

You can fill out the form in the private party booking pages to give our team a little more information about what you’re looking to do and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

How far in advance should I book my tickets on the Princess?

We always recommend purchasing tickets as far in advance as possible. Tickets are always on a first come first serve basis, and once a party is sold out there is no wiggle room, as we have a strict capacity set by the United States Coast Guard. If you want to be sure to have a spot on the boat, get your ticket now!

When should I put a deposit down to reserve a spot for my group?

As soon as you are confident that you want to host your event on the Detroit Princess Riverboat you should call one of our team members right away to put a deposit down. Prime dates sell out very quickly and sometimes groups book the entire boat. To be sure your group has a spot on the vessel, put down a deposit as soon as possible. Once you have paid the deposit (we accept cash, check, or money order) and signed and sent back a charter contract you and your group will be ready to set sail!

Do you have bars onboard the Princess?

Each level of the Princess is equipped with a full bar-featuring house and premium liquors, Michigan Micro and domestic beers, wine, champagne, and many local favorites as well. For special events we often set up beer & wine stations outside for your convenience too!

Do you accept credit cards at the boat?

Yes!

Do you accept Canadian currency on board?

We do not accept foreign currency.

What age is considered senior citizen?

Our senior citizen rates are available to those 60 years old and older on lunch cruises Monday through Friday.

How early should I arrive?

The boarding time for your cruise is listed on your ticket, and that is when the doors to the vessel will open. We do not allow early entry due to strict maritime regulations.

I have my concealed pistol license (CPL); can I carry on the Detroit Princess?

The Detroit River is an international waterway that we share with Canada. It is illegal to carry a firearm (openly or concealed) even if you have a valid CPL. We ask that you do not attempt to bring weapons of any kind onto the Detroit princess due to the severity of these laws. This includes off duty law enforcement officers, as well as retired officers. All passengers are subject to search upon boarding as proper precaution.
